I could be wrong but I do remember reading somewhere that after ww2 there have been instances in pacific islands of native people standing on old runways doing the flag stances in hopes it brings in a plane.
Says someone who will remove belts, shoes, and all metal objects and wait for hours to get the chance to sit inside of one.
