When see a building situation that makes absolutely no sense, blame the HVAC folks.
You can blame the sprinkler head at the bottom of the picture for the lower angled part being at a different angle

I swear I have never seen a diagonal of these ceilings that has been properly aligned. Thank God most rooms are square or rectangular so we don’t have to worry about such things.
